Here is this old favorite using up every bit of this lovely viscose by cutting on both directions and adding a horizontal seam in back, and shortening the sleeves.

This has become this summer's go to pattern. I had a lot of rayon wovens stashed up for dress making...but I don't wear dresses but once or twice a year! So I have now made this about 6 times. The hardest part is matching the shoulder pleats perfectly and a neat shirt tail hem AND the triangle top pointing just perfectly!. I have made a number of adjustments to the pattern. *Some as fitting improvements which I will not list. *However I found the side front triangle might just as well be cut on grain, as it is printed just a tad off and I cannot see a good reason. *The sleeves can be extended all the way to the fabric edge when cutting and it creates a nice angular 3/4 sleeve opening. *The back can be cut in two sections like the front if fabric is at a shortage. *This is so great for using up those 1.1/3 yard pieces, if you cut cleverly using grain going either way. *If you high-low the hem you've got a updated version.

I did the wedges, upper front, back , shoulder and side seams, neckline finish, hems. It really isn't that crucial how you do it...I often do the hardest stuff first.

My first time with this pattern, and I would typically put the front together before sewing front to back. Pattern instructions do the opposite. From your experience, do you think the pattern's method is better, or would you do front pieces first?

Very pretty, I see why you like it. That looks so comfy, yet kind of tailored and interesting.
