This is for the mini - Wardrobe challenge.

I bought the anchor fabric at Grey's Fabrics and Notions in Boston on 4th of July weekend. That set the tone. I wanted something I could wear in my casual office and on weekends in the Summer. In the DC area that weather can go anywhere from March until November. This was the shirt that set off the theme:

Nautical Shirt I could not resist these buttons at G Street!

I needed two T shirt type tops. I though one in black would be good. It's a great wardrobe staple and I love 3/4" sleeves as I work in a very heavily air conditioned office.

Black knit shirt

I also did one in white. This one has a boat neck and the sleeves are slightly ruched.

White knit shirt

Of course another basic staple is a khaki skirt. The button for this was from the ever growing button stash started by my great great Grandmother. That works with this collection and has so many other uses:

And of course with the nautical inspired shirt there had to be an nautical inspired skirt:

I would like to thank the nice guy in the Visitor's Center in Occoquan Virginia for letting me keep the clothes there and dress in the ladies room!

Outstanding use of the nautical theme. Fun and practical garments. Good demonstration of how to mix and match the pieces.
