That's a perfect doll. Just what a 2 year old loves. I enjoy your web site every time I visit it.

Elizabeth, the doll is cute. what did you use for the hair ? i make dolls too. but i try to get out of doing them as much as i can, only because of having to make the wigs for them. the ones you can purchase cost too much. and the dolls i make i need long hair for them. but your doll is sweet. good job!

Elizabeth, this dolly is just too cute. I love cloth dolls and so do my children. Oh brother, this site has been devastating for my willpower ;)

Thanks for all the comments :) The hair was made in the following way (it's also described in the pattern): Take some boucle yarn, and cut a piece of cardboard (about 1 1/2" by 8"). Cut the middle out of the strip of the cardboard, so that it's like this [====] (sort of). Wrap the boucle yarn around the cardboard close together. Sew down the center of the cardboard. Cut through one end of the cardboard, so that the yarn can be pulled off. You should now have a lot of yarn looped together, with a seam down the center. Twist the looped yarn, to make it more random. Sew the yarn on, by hand. If you want (I did) cut through the ends of the loops to create short bushy hair. I also trimmed it a little, to make it a little less messy. That's probably as clear as mud. There are diagrams in the pattern.
