Cathy Loves Fabric said... Yes, I finally achieved well fitting pants with a Burda pattern too. Congrats. They look nice. For the bagginess under the back cheeks try taking in the back inseam. 10/3/05 0:44 AM

For the wrinkles in back, check out Debbie Cook's fisheye dart alteration at this site:

There's a big discussion of this problem on the pattern alteration portion of the message board. 10/3/05 1:41 AM

Cecile Owens said... I, too, have a problem with bagginess under the seat and I looked for solutions: see Alterations for Women's Ready-to Wear by Mary A Roehr. The copyright is 1987 so if you can't find it, I could copy and send you the appropriate pages. Mainly it calls for reducing the length of back portion at the waist before attaching it to the waistband. I'll need your e-mail address to do that. 10/3/05 4:05 PM

Danvillegirl said... Your pants muslin turned out real well. I am still trying to perfect pants. Kenneth King's Trouser CD talks about fisheye dart in the seat area. Debbie Cook has perfected this with her pants and you might try going to the message board here on PR and read more about that. Either that or taking up more of the back inseam may do the trick. You are definitely on your way to a great fitting pair of pants. 10/4/05 5:54 AM

SouthernStitch said... I'd try that fisheye dart too, but yours really isn't that bad. It will be a small adjustment - much smaller than you'd need in a big 4 pant pattern. I too am a Burda convert, and I have a flat butt, so I always have that problem. Less so in Burda, though. I think that this pant will look great in lots of different fabrics. You've made me want to try this one! 10/5/05 1:14 PM
Juliet said... I bought the pattern after reading your review - I need grey pants this winter but the "in" colour is chocolate - I'm sure that with the wide range of sizes this will be really useful. Did you think of doing the pocket stay in lining fabric to reduce bulk? I really like your pants by the way! 10/8/05 3:04 AM
CarolynGM said... Your pants look so nice on you. I think pocket stays really help tremendously in fit, but you never find them anymore in big 4 -- another plus for Burda. 10/8/05 4:53 AM
