Nikki, sounds like a bummer. The next time around will get better. I looked at the photo and it really looks to be fitted. Perhaps the pattern has the circumference noted on the pattern at the bust and waist so you can pick the size you want to make. I rarely make a pattern in the size I'm "supposed to" and now I'm measuring everything and comparing it to something I like the fit on. I haven't made many "wadders" since I started doing this. Thanks for sharing your experience. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who has problems when sewing from time to time. And at least Goodwill will have a nice blouse to sell rather than a new found friend for the round file.

The new top looks great! This looks like a nice fitted-button-down shirt pattern.

Nikki - I really really like the new version!.....how is the ease through the sleeves? I worked up a similiar New Look design, and my elbow length sleeves are a bit tight at the elbow )my alteration - not inthe pattern)....so I wonder how the ease works out in a real New Look elbow length sleeve.

Phyllis, the cuffs are not too snug at the elbow, but not wide either, I think it is a good circumference for me - but I have fairly skinny arms.

Good on you for persisting. It sure makes a difference having the right fitting techniques. You did a great-looking shirt.
