Although this is a specialty item for most people, I happen to have a 13-year-old nephew who's a figure skater, and we've been looking for a pattern for just this type of pant! For a very thin boy, do you think these could be made by omitting the darts and using an elastic waist rather than the zip fly? 10/18/05 8:04 AM
Shelly Murphy said... Threads, I think it could be done, without much trouble, because the pant front was not cut for the fly. The fly was an additional piece. Go to www.jalie.com and you can download in pdf the complete instructions (pictures and all.) I wouldn't take out the darts. They add that fit in the bum!! Let me know what you think. Now a question for you. What do you do about shirts with trunks attached. He wasn't all that excited about the thought. But after the test session last week, he now understands why they are necessary. Good luck and let me know how it goes. I am new to this (reviews) and it is so exciting to find someone else out there!! 10/19/05 11:04 AM

Skating mom said... thanks - enough information that I think I will order it - now if I could only sew!! Thank goodness for friends. I have tried to buy pants for my not nearly as tall figure (5'10") skater son and even paying someone to sew this I will come out better. 9/25/07 12:39 PM
