Wendy- now you have instructions for how to do it! I have one suggestion- Leave more on the bottom edge than you think you need- you can always trim it later and I was just a *little* short.... I made it work but it would have been nice to have just a 1/2 longer on the flat red lace.

you put me to shame ... I have some vintage parasols (4 of them) that I bought from eBay simply to do the same thing, and that was more than 3 years ago!
