GwenV, the gussets were challenging - if I make it again I would alter the pattern and put a curved seam there. I made the top and skirt - next time I will place the seam binding just a wee bit lower. I also had to take in the back seam - first time ever for me as well. The ensemble looks beautiful.

Oooh - I love your version! When I made the long sleeved top I sewed the gussets in sections - just the inset corner bits on their own, then the whole seam. It was easier than trying to do the whole seam in one hit, and it never hurts to have a bit of extra reinforcing stitching at an inset!

Well done for braving this pattern. It turned out brilliantly! I have it in my stash, maybe the time has come to bite the bullet and make it....

i think it looks fab but to dificult fof me ilove issys cloths and would love to have this dresss but i think i will give it a miss thanks strickland

Thankyou for your review. I love this pattern but it has alluded me. I just could not get the twist right on the skirt. I tried and tried and it just didn't work. I am glad you had more sucess than me. I found the whole thing very confusing. I usually dont really read the instructions just follow the pictures and I am an experienced sewer. But this one boy it was a doozy
