It was very helpful to hear about making the straight grain tube and to see how well it worked. I also appreciated your discussion of making the two disparate fabric types work together. You are a true inspiration, not just for your incredible skill, but for your beautiful carriage in modeling this outfit. Would you care to say how much time you spent making both pieces?

Liana, it's beautiful. And to think you did it all without instructions. Don't ignore that pattern just because of the skirt's distinctive style. With your imagination and sense of style, I'm sure you can come up with an idea that will make it look completely different. And now, back to my pathetic little polyester top....

Thanks everyone! Glenda, I'm not sure how long it really took, but I began the actual sewing on Sept. 9th, although I had quite a few "sit and think" spells. I did do a lot of handwork on this, but I enjoy it, so that's a plus.

Liana, it's all been said, well & truly! However, I just have to chime in with my reaction even though it's the same as all above! Thanks for all the construction details that are so detailed & well thought-out. Absolutely stunning result! The "look" is as Ann Chafin said, "drop-dead gorgeous"!

Liana: I have been too intimidated to try Marfy...your skill and creativity are inspiring me to just take the plunge. Where do you get those beautiful fabrics (Elegance???) and did you make a muslin..wearable or muslin muslin?
