Cut from the inseam to but not through the side seam, then overlap and tape the inseam, reducing its length by about 1/2". Now you'll need to steam and stretch the inseam before you sew it. Tugging on the crotch point as you steam it will turn the crotch shape from an "L" to a backward "J". When you sew the front to the back at the inseam, you might have to stretch the back and slightly ease the front to get them to fit. This alteration makes the back thigh fit much more smoothly, and I do it on every pants pattern, even if I measure and find that a little stretch/ease difference has been built in to the pattern.
