Vicki, the zippers are really high quality metal zippers with decorative pulls, and are really durable! After replacing a zipper on some pants twice I used a riri zip and no problems. check 'em out.. http://www.thesewingplace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=318

What a pretty skirt! I really like the fabric you used. My next sewing splurge will have to be a subscription to Burda WOF. And did you say you used a "riri zipper"? Could you enlighten me, please?
