this is lovely and looks really nice on you, I wonder what it would be like in fabric with a bit of stretch. well done, a good review.

It's beautiful! What a lovely sight on a snowy day here in the USA. I'm intrigued by the up pleat, it looks nice and it seems to work well. I like the wide ties, they look nice with the fabric print.

I just bought this pattern myself. Yours turned out just great and that fabric is just wonderful. You got a great fit. I was thinking of sewing it out of a jersey lycra knit with an elasticized, turned under front edge instead of using the facing. I'm just worried about how to attach the ties if I do this. I think if you add some interfacing to the seam allowance at the side tie opening it would feel less unstable. I hope you make more for your summer wardrobe.

I have only just 'found' all your comments, and thank you! It is so nice to be so positively received. I like this website!! It has good people. About using stretch fabrics - the pattern does not mention them, and I think for me it would be too clingy, but I am probably just not experienced enough in using them. I think attaching the ties would be a problem without the facing - but fold under and topstitch might do it. It would certainly hang better down the length of the front without the facing. You are right about interfacing the tie opening - next time I would do it before sewing down the edges. Cheers everyone!
