I think that the costume looks terrific. I made the Cinderella version of this pattern last year for my 3 year old. I agree that there is a lot of detail, fabric etc. for a costume but that's what I love about the fact that I'm able to sew. The costume was unlike anyone elses and although time-consuming, was not difficult and well worth the result. I made my 2 year old son the Mickey costume by Simplicity the same year and my husband said that everyone commented on it looking like the best Mickey costume they'd ever seen! Comments like these make it all worth it!

Alex, beautiful costume! From the pattern pictures I can't see a big difference between the easy-to-sew and this one. 17 pieces, though... you know I can relate!

Here it is September 2003 and Sleeping Beauty has just been released on DVD--we have watched it five times in six days. I predict Sleeping Beauty is going to be much in demand for Halloween. Thank you Alex, for steering me in the direction of the easy-to-sew version.
