congrats on the pants (envy!), and re-use of fabric. We have something here called rat-tail which is often used for jewelry and works great for binding filler. It's a satin-covered cord.

Wow. The red and black are so striking. Very fine. And don't you feel so thrifty, in the best sense of the word, for being able to give the fabric another life.

That is an extraordinarily nice jacket. Great work on the trousers too (you really could review them - often the trials and tribulations prior to a success story are very helpful to others).

Very elegant. I'm in the process of fitting a jacket in a muslin right now, so it is inspiring to see how someone else got to the end of their process to produce such a gorgeous result.
