Mens T-shirts provide a lot of decent fabric, don't they? For years I altered huge T-shirts that my kids won in ski races to fit them, following much the same approach you did: cut the torso the right size, sewed sleeves back on and hemmed. I like your dress. Even in grey it's quite feminine. I have picked off pockets with good success. If removing the pocket leaves a mark you should be able to mend it invisibly using cotton thread (which blends in nicer than synthetics) and free-motion darning. I'd suggest embroidering it, but it's likely too low for that.

What a great result! You're work is really very well thought-out. I think your decision to not make the yoke with a heavier fabric is very wise. After all, you can wear that mini-look & look fantastic. Maybe you'll always be able to pull it off, but definitely do it now while it works for you. Really cute! Thanks for sharing it with us!

That's one big t-shirt. Great idea. IT doesn't look like anything needs to be re-done.

So CUTE! I think you did a great job! It also sounds liked you learned a lot (probably the biggest benefit gained with every new project - it always is for me!). Very creative, and great solutions/ alternatives that you came up with, to make the materials you had "on hand" work for you. I'd give you 10 stars just for spunk and creativity - let alone for great results! I look forward to reading your other reviews! -Victoria

This is the most adorable t-shirt dress I have seen in a very long time! I can see the pocket at your waistline - I actually like it there. If you rip it out there will likely be two small holes underneath that marked it's placement so I'd leave it. Your mom must be so proud of your sewing!
