Your bra looks awesome. I really want to give it a try. Are you a "hard to fit" kind of gal? I'm not sure it would be all that easy for some of us to get the fit just right.

Glad you reviewed the bra. I have been tempted to order a kit because of not getting a good fit when I shop. You have made me determined to give this a try. Your bra looks fabulous. thanks

Thanks you guys. I figured out that I can make a bra for about $12. That beats $25 any day! Sherril, I am a 38" bust with a 35 1/2 " high bust. So bras always have too much fabric in the upper cup, they also tend to ride up my back. I have been able to tweek the pattern to take care of those problems. I made one test bra to get the fit right and for me it wasn't that difficult. I have refined some things on each one I have made. Elan gives good pattern support. I am not an expert, but I would be happy to try to answer your questions if you run into trouble. I also have some articles on making bras I could check.

There's a book by Leeann Burgess - Making Beautiful Bras - it goes through all the steps and also includes cutting a pattern from an existing bra.

I've never seen a handmade bra, and would have expected that it would take forever to make and fit! Beautiful work...

Great bra! I've been thinking about making mine. Do you use a serger or sewing machine?

i can't see the picture -- but doesn't it feel SO good to have made a bra? i need to make some more....

Ginger, I used my sewing machine. You use a zig zag stitch for alot of it. I don't know that a serger would be that benificial. Mamafitz, sorry you can't see the picture. I will make sure that the settings haven't changed on my Yahoo page. Yes, it feels really good to make your own bra. I am thinking about trying undies!

This is really beautiful! I want to try this, too, as those little junkets to Victoria's Secret are expensive and very depressing....

Thanks for the review - it encourages me to give making a bra a try - I am so fed up with never being able to get what I want in RTW. Your bra looks great - just like shop-bought.
