I am expecting #3 in July and want to make the nappy bag too. I love the mitered corners are the bag and I really think it improves the look. Thanks so much for this review. 2/24/07 8:06 PM

A friend of mine just told me she is expecting #3 also, and I am going to make her a bag. I don't have enough of the Dysfunctional Family print left to use that though. (And I know it's not for everyone, anyway.) I am going with the Moda Cherries Jubiliee "dots blue green" print with a coordinating floral for the interior. I can't wait to sew it up - and I am going to try my idea with the divided pocket on it. 2/25/07 1:16 AM

I know I ask alot but it is so much easier to see the true look when someone is holding it:) Thanks for your review and all your pics of the changes you made. I am going to be making this bag soon. I am going to incorporate most of your changes.

Yakityak said... Yikes! Sorry Shorts - just saw your question now. Mitering the corners of the bag has a useful functional effect - tiny objects don't get wedged down in those pointy corners. With all the crackers and goldfish, etc. that wind up in the bottom of my bag I am grateful to be able to dig out crumbs and what-have-you easily. Also, I found that when I made the corners non-mitered, they looked a bit conical. This looked doofy to me. I think you could miter the corners just a tad to eliminate that effect. I will try and shoot another photo for you with the bag fully loaded if I can remember to do it! 1/6/08 10:08 PM
