| Edit 1/2012- Guitar PJ shorts pants, another Stash contest project. Love the pattern, just keep moving sizes up when the kids grow! Pattern works well for quick teen pj shorts (12"-13" inseam - long for the boys). Two more pairs... Candies and Airplanes. DS is wearing them already!
Edit 1/31/12 - Made myself some Pink heart flannel back satin pj pants. Pic coming soon! Why should the kiddos get all the pj pants! Mom needs some too (out of nicer shiny fabric).
Edit 2/11 - A new pair of Valentine capri pjs, though completely unsuitable for the freezing weather we've had the past few weeks. I just hope it warms soon so I can wear them! Valentine Capris
Edit 1/3/07... A new pair in Flannel Back Satin Red Pj pants with a snowflake pattern. I still love this pattern! This is a pic of the whole pj set I made... Pj set
edited 10/19 to add links to more pics of different versions and a pic of my latest flannel backed satin pj pants in the main pic.
Pattern Description:
Burda One Seam pants
Pattern Sizing:
sizes 34-52. I made size 38 (US 14)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yep, but better.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very much so. Only a few steps. I love One-Seams!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Easy easy easy easy. I like that you can use striped fabric and it looks good on the sides. The best part is that since there aren't any side seams, it doesn't add bulk to your hips!
Fabric Used:
Cotton striped knit for this pair Knit pj shorts. I've made these in fleece for my husband pj pants Fleece pj shorts, flannel for myself, Flannel backed satin shorts, and knits (capris with lettuce leaf for pj pants). Probably a few others too, but I can't remember them all. I used a size smaller for the fleece and knit fabrics.
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
I made the shorts length for my mom for summer pjs without alterations.
Here is the outfit. Pj outfit
The shirt is Burda 3197 with a glitter foldover elastic neckline instead of facing, and lettuce hem and sleeve. Burda 3197 review
I've also done capris with lettuce leaf hem One Seam capris, Flannel backed satin pj pants, and shorts.
You can make these with just about any length hem. The only disaster pair was where I attempted to use a thick double knit polyester and tried to add side seams with elephant ear pockets. Don't try this with such a thick fabric...I certainly don't need extra puff on my hip. It would have worked nicely had it been a thin fabric.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Highly recommended. Easy pants.
Conclusion
Just about the easiest pattern you can make. One pattern piece, so not a lot of cutting. Quick sewing up! Works well with lots of types of fabrics.

Great looking pjs. I've had this pattern for while, but have never used it....I love the idea of using it for pajama bottoms.

Lovely. They look like very comfortable summer nights. Where do you get glitter foldover elastic please?

Sharon, I bought it from an eBay store called Kathys-Lace-and-Elastic-Outlet run by the seller fr8rain. She also has a yahoo group list with photos. She has tons of foldovers and elastics sold by the yard. Very nice with prompt shipping w/o extra fees. NAYY. I heard about her on Sewing World and have been very happy with everything I bought.

Very cute pjs! This is a great pattern.

I haven't made these as shorts yet; I like the idea.

Thanks for the reminder -- I've heard -- and you have confirmed -- that this is a good pattern for pj bottoms. Your pj set turned out so nice.

I am going to have to try these. Thanks for the review!

They look comfortable! They should be worth the wait!

I have been lurking this site for ages. You have inspired me to start sewing again. Thing is one member said about cutting 5in off the bottom for capri pants - I did BUT the inside seam is too short! Does anyone else have to fold more than 1 in up at the bottom where the side seam would be?

jenny, i have to do a little "truing" to get the seams straight. there was some discussion of the "hiking" up inseam over on sewingworld with some tips. i tried to email msg you, but it is not going through. do you have private messsages turned off? check in the "patterns, fitting, alterations" thread under "louise cutting's one seam pants".

Jen, the only link that's working is the "Knit pj shorts"

They sound great, but when I tried to click on the links, only one pic came up. For the rest of them, I got this message: "Uh-oh. Something bad happened... We're really sorry, but something went wrong while handling your request. [listPhotos:1:78]"

I just fixed all the pics permissions. the new yahoo is driving me nuts! LOL

Yahoo has been driving me nuts in general!

They're all lovely, but I especially like the flannel backed satin pj pants. They look so comfortable.

I think they look great and will have to try a pair for myself. You've convinced me that I might be able to handle this pattern.

Gotta love that Burda one seam pants pattern - what a shame they took it OOP. Enjoy your new pj's! :-)

You can also cut these 2 sizes larger and use a slinky or drapey jersy and they are the bomb!!

It's deja vu, lol...I just made red satin PJs too, but haven't reviewed them yet. Don't ya just love slippery satin to sleep in? I feel like I'm bragging when I say yours are so pretty ;)

I this is one of the greatest patterns of all time, and you are really getting good use out of it.
