Hi, Rosephreak, I do know a fix for the "pooching" front. I took out the elastic waist and put in 2 darts in the front and then put the elastic waist back in. My darts were 1" wide on each side front and about 3.5" long. This takes the fullness out of the waist, but leaves it in the hips. Pin it out and see if it will work for you. Your skirt is really cute and I love the chiffon hem. Really cute addition.

Cute skirt, I think Cathy had a great suggestion. Your hem is a very nice detail for the skirt.

Claire, I think your skirt is lovely. And contrary to the thread you started on the message board, I think it looks great on you. Think about Cathy's good idea to help with the poofiness at the waist but really, with a pretty blouse instead of a tee, this skirt would be half of a fabulous outfit!

I love this color too and your hem detail is very nice. Have you tried just shifting the seams from centered to running down the legs? This may solve your concerns about the tummy area. I'd do Cathy's darts first. You're right that part of your lack of swishiness is due to the fabric but also of the change in length. The length shown on the model is more swishy IMHO. Don't give up here, girl!

Good morning - thank you for the positive and lovely comments. I will definitely try Cathy's suggestion. I do love this color and have a cute wrap top with short sleeves I'm making today. I'll review that next, and update this with the changes I make to the skirt. Thanks!

Very pretty skirt. How lucky that you had some chiffon that matched the color so well. Nice touch on the hem.

Love the skirt and the color and it looks very nice on you. You might try it in a drapier fabric also, that design really wants something that can move, but I really like that linen.

I think the skirt is beautiful; thanks for the review and detailed photos. Very nice hemming. I seem to have that sitting down issue with most elastic-waist items.

Stand all day, and it looks great! If you have a looser style, the elastic waist probably wouldn't be an issue. (With closer fitting skirts & with pants, it seems to be.) If you try Cathy's suggestion, make certain that it is still enough to go over your hips.
