Cathy Loves Fabric said... Hi, Rosephreak, I do know a fix for the "pooching" front. I took out the elastic waist and put in 2 darts in the front and then put the elastic waist back in. My darts were 1" wide on each side front and about 3.5" long. This takes the fullness out of the waist, but leaves it in the hips. Pin it out and see if it will work for you. Your skirt is really cute and I love the chiffon hem. Really cute addition. 5/21/06 0:27 AM

Think about Cathy's good idea to help with the poofiness at the waist but really, with a pretty blouse instead of a tee, this skirt would be half of a fabulous outfit! 5/21/06 9:18 AM

This may solve your concerns about the tummy area. I'd do Cathy's darts first. You're right that part of your lack of swishiness is due to the fabric but also of the change in length. The length shown on the model is more swishy IMHO. Don't give up here, girl! 5/21/06 9:58 AM

I do love this color and have a cute wrap top with short sleeves I'm making today. I'll review that next, and update this with the changes I make to the skirt. Thanks! 5/21/06 10:35 AM
