Deb, I have had my eye on this pattern for a while but the bias scares me. I have never worked with bias before and I was wondering if you had any problems with it in this top. Would love to see the photos.

I have had problems working with bias before, but not with this pattern. Of course, I could have lucked out with my choice of fabrics. When working with bias-cut pattern pieces, I'm usually treat them a little more tenderly than straight-grain pieces and I check them against the pattern piece to make sure they haven't stretched.

Interesting idea on using wooly nylon with hand hemming. You will have to borrow a digital camera so we can see your top!

Wooly nylon is a bear to hem with; it curls up on itself, and sometimes will shred. BUT I like using it because I get a nice stretchy hem. I've seen some wonderful machine finishing on knit garments here on SW--seem like I just can't get the tension/foot pressure right to do it without stretching out the fabric and getting ripples. And I like to hand-sew.

Deb - your top is wonderful and looks great on you! I've had this pattern awhile, seeing your photo encourages me to give it a try.

D., that's Vogue 2538, which has been reviewed here. I made it for my daughter.

Thanks for your comments on this pattern, I looked at the pic first & thought 'oh I would really like that sleeveless' (it's our summer in the southern hemisphere) ... and the review delivered the answer!
