I have been told by both my dh and db that they do not use the fly. And if there is not a button to keep it closed, the horse can get out the gate as it were. Nice boxers. My younger son does not like them, but I had fun making them for my older son when he lived at home.

I've made 3 of these over the years and just recently started eliminating the fly altogether. If you follow the directions, you will end up sewing it shut, by the way. I just posted a review this evening. I like your fabric choice. I'd say our kids are lucky, don't you agree?

I was confused about the fly, too. It seems that if you topstitch according to directions, you topstitch the fly closed.
