Great job on mixing the two patterns. And you're right about the interfacing. When I made this top I used collar/cuff interfacing.

I want to see you make it again in a pretty fabric. Do something to highlight the overlap/underlap. It kind of disappears in that grey fabric. Great idea using a t-shirt that already fits great and then stealing details from other patterns. I do this all the time with KS 2900. No sense reinventing the wheel for each new pattern.
