It looks fabulous, but I'm having a little trouble figuring out the waist area. Is that a yoke? When you say you omitted the waistband, was it a straight waistband attached to the yoke?

Ooh, I like the trim! Re the skirt falling down - did you stabilise the waist with something so it wouldn't stretch? If not, then is you add some ribbon or stay tape it might help. You could ease it in a bit so it is a bit smaller as well. It looks really smart!

Irina, no it doesn't have a yoke, the waist band is just a straight piece to sew on top, which I completely omitted because I don't really like waistbands. But that must be a mistake because the skirt is a bit loose. I did sew clear elastic around the top seam but I think I should take it in a bit, maybe easing it like HKS suggested or hope the skirt will shrink in the wash coz' I'm just too lazy.
