I printed the "label" on a tee-shirt transfer sheet and just ironed it on. Scratchy labels are a big no-no for my DD but she needs the "label" to tell back from front. I put the size there too for future reference as I have a 2 year old DD as well.

I use this pattern for my dd as well. It is well sized and the elastic measurements given in the pattern work at least for my size 8 dd. The pattern works both on a serger and sewing machine. I like the suggestion for using t-shirt transfers for labels.
