I have found that using Steam-a-Seam or similar product on the hem before stitching (being careful not to melt the Slinky) helps tremendously with the double needle hem. You also might try loosening your top tension when using the double needle.

Susan, thanks for the tip. Actually, I had loosened the top tension to do all the stitching on the slinky as I must on any stretch fabric with my machine. I should have mentioned that in my review as well. Catherine, I'll attempt posting pictures later today if I can make some time for it, or tomorrow.
