Absolutely beautiful top.

Your version is beautiful! That trim really makes it a standout with a very expensive "boutique" look. This is the pattern I'm planning on using to whip up a top for PR Weekend next week since the alterations are already done. Yep, a muslin is definitely in order with this pattern, but the style is divine.

Wow! That is one beautiful top. Thanks for the detailed review and warnings about fit. The trim is gorgeous and goes with the fabric so well. It looks so light and summery. (It took me a minute to realize why you were sewing a warm-weather top--you're heading into warm weather, not cold like we are up north.)

Belinda - I'm a bit scared of empire lines but you may have convinced me. The top looks great - particularly in the photo where you have it on complete with matching jewellery. Great job.

I'm usually afraid of empire waisted tops because I am large busted, but this one looks like a winner. Doing it as an armhole princess was truly and inspired decision on your part. It looks fabulous on you.

Great review. Nice top. I really like your trim treatment. Nice suggestion to use the clear thread for that. I think it would be the hip that is the fitting issue for me - it always is!
