I am sorry to hear the pattern didn't
work well. I've had problems with Vogue
Elements patterns myself--in fact, I
have tried two and neither worked for me.
One was a
bias-cut top and the other was a wrap
top intended for knits. The former came
out absolutely HUGE. I find that other
Big 4 patterns are often oversized, but
this was unusually big for Vogue. The
wrap top suggested casing elastic at the
neck edges, but even so it turned out
too revealing to wear, and I think it
also had the same problem you describe here.
(It was very close-fitting, so I couldn't really
wear it over anything.) Sorry I don't know the pattern
numbers on these... I got rid of the patterns.
I don't know if anyone else
has used another Vogue Elements pattern
that did work well, but for now I think
I won't buy any more of them... 11/24/02 11:19 PM

I guess I'd better double-check the fit if I make it! As for this mock wrap pattern, I didn't notice any major fitting problems. Just the problem with the seam I described. The neckline is revealing but I had raised it just a bit before cutting, and stabilized with twill tape. These things helped but I probably would have tacked it in place too. But the main problem was the seam pulling.
