I made this last year Irene for my mother-in-law and she loved it - may make it for her again this year. As you said - it is an easy pattern and your results are beautiful!!

Lovely, almost practical gift. ;) I'm certain your DM will love it. It is certainly pretty, and I think the heavier silk is even nicer than the thinner charmeuse would have been.

I know what you mean about hating gathering 1/4" sa. That is a good tip to check the sa and make them 5/8". This gown is lovely. I would love to know what your mother thinks of it.

Beautiful nightgown; I am sure your Mom loved it. I really liked the idea of sewing the lace onto the bodice. That way it does not scratch your skin!!
