Fantastic top, Belinda. This is too nice to refer to as a sweatshirt. I love the wooden buttons and leather.

Cheryl, the fabric is from a wholesaler in Melbourne Australia that I visited with fellow PR members last year.

Thanks for this review, I love the fleece top -- Much too glam to be called a sweatshirt! The color is wonderful on you & the leather & buttons are very nicely done. The stitching is just the right finishing touch!

HKS, only time will tell with the leather. :) It went through the first wash with no problems. I couldn't find imitation leather, so figured I'd start with the real stuff and replace it later if need be with the fake stuff. :)

Wow--looks like expensive RTW! You sewed this perfectly, and I like your version better than Burda's. Thx for the hood pattern visual :) Thing is, it's so far off your shoulders perhaps a 38 w/FBA would be better?

Katharine, I selected the size 40 by my high bust m'ment. From experience a Burda 38 is too small all over on me. I usually sew a 40 with an FBA but this time I used the ease in-built into the style. A sweatshirt like this is usually drafted with an extended shoulder, so meant to sit off the shoulder approx. 0.5". Maybe I could do a narrow shoulder adjustment but I like where the shoulder sits. :)

Very nice top, Belinda. I like this top without the pouch pocket in the front. Gives it a much cleaner, high end look. Great job with the stitching and embellishments.

Getting ready to make this and glad we aren't living in the same town...basically using the same color but in velour. Your closeup of button/toggles is very helpful. You did a great job with the hoodie.

I loved this pattern too...glad we don't live in the same town as you and I would look like "twins." Mine is turquoise with black trim also.
