I really like what you did with the fabric. The pockets look much nicer than the ones in the pattern. When you say they are "fake welt", does that mean then are non-functional?

Your coat is beautiful. This was a good time to make it since we actually have had some cold days for a change.

This looks really great, and really good for you also.. Do tell about the fake welts, is this some technique we should know about? Somehow fake sounds easier :-)..

Gorgeous jacket! I love your addition of the velveteen collar, it's beautiful with your wool.

Irina and Fuzzygalore, I call the welts fake because they run all the way across the front side piece. Cut the side front in two where you want the pocket, bind the edges (adding the pocket bag), then baste the lips together and handle as a single pattern piece. This was another trick touched on in Shannon's Stitch-N-Flip class. Pretty easy and it looks sharp.

The coat looks great! Enjoy the wearing. Next time you make a jacket with set in sleeves make sure you check how much bigger the sleeve is fom the armskye if it is more than 1 or 1 1/2" larger, reduce the ease and it should go in a lot easier.

I like the variations you did with it, and it looks really nice on you. I especially like the pockets you added. Now go have fun and knock out some quick and easy projects.

The coat is beautiful. I am like you. When it takes too long, I want to sew something quick and easy, then I start something that's not.

Robyn ~ love, love, love the jacket! I like how you changed the elements of the jacket and made it more you. Will have to go and look for that issue ~ that is a great pattern!
