I'm sure they are fine. I certainly understand about dealing with that much fabric. It's a chore and you are really tired moving that fabric all around.

Isn't buying curtains a shocking experience when you see how much the cost? It's worth giving it a try to make your own, particularly if you are making light-blocking ones. (They actually sell separate linings designed to block light and / or insulate, but of course that would make your project that much thicker.)
