Creative solution for the too-small pants. If you have access to Nancy Zeiman's book, Fitting Finesse, she recommends using a pants pattern a couple of sizes smaller and doing a series of alterations to get a better fit. The strip down the side kind of makes them look like Tuxedo pants - more dressy than casual. IMHO

A very innovative solution for too-tight pants, and they ended up being very flattering as a result!

They do look sporty, but that isn't bad. It's a nice option for these pants. It does give these pants a very long / lean look.

Tour pants turned out beautifully. The strip on the side looks great. I'd read about that solution to too-tight pants somewhere, so it's nice to see that it works and doesn't look like it's a "fix." Good save!
