I get so many complements on this coat-people say they really like the funky big collar:). Nobody believes me when I say I made it in an hour. The decorative sergerd edge is a good idea. I am thinking about making the same coat for spring in a jacket weight linen with the edges finshed with a serged decorative rayon thread. 1/7/03 1:10 PM

I saw your review of both views. Great job! I have to admit I bought the pattern because I liked view A. Still want to make that one too. please post a pic when you get your linen version done. I used pearl crown rayon on my green jacket and it worked great.
Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I have been enjoying everyone else's reviews for a while and decided I need to post some of mine.
Johanna - go for it -- what a quick and easy project w/very striking results. Your neighbor will love you for it. 1/7/03 5:02 PM

The jacket for my neighbor came out great- I cut out the sleeves on the bias, just to the length of the notches, then hemmed them. I basted them to the top of the sleeve then treated it as one piece (i.e. interlining, not a separate lining) by sewing it in with the shoulder seam and the underarm seam. It makes a huge difference in putting it on! 1/13/03 11:28 AM

I ended up not buying it because something on the care label worried me but now I cannot for the life of me remember what that was. I love the way your jacket came out and am now wishing I had made it up after all! 1/18/06 6:40 PM
