Very pretty - I sometimes get those wrinkles in the back and have to alter to a smaller size for the back only. Good job

From the pattern info from Kwiksew, I would never have chosen this dress, it looks dull. Seeing your version makes me think otherwise. Very nice dress, looks good on you.

Very cute!! I have this pattern too and have yet to make it. I think it fits almost perfectly-as for the back, maybe a swayback alteration is needed? That's where you take a tuck at the center back and taper to nothing at the side-seams. I have to make that adjustment frequently. Again, your dress is beautiful and flatters you nicely!

I agree with Hillary. Swayback alteration. Everywhere else it looks perfect. Beautiful color on you.

Your dress looks beautiful. I agree, Kwik Sew patterns always look so un-stylish. However, they sew up very differently. I think it's their drawings. They need someone to spice them up.

If I looked this good in a dress like that, I'd be so conceited nobody'd be able to stand me! :o) Thanks for the great review.

Excellent job. You should be thrilled. You probably need to shorten the center top of the back a little, based on the picture. (This is basically what they call a sway-back alteration. Fitting Finese and Fit for Real People both describe how to do this, although using different methods, and if you search on the message boards you will probably find more instructions.) The Kwik-Sew drawings tend to look so dull, but then when you see them made & worn by people in the reviews, you can see the potential of the patterns.

I am curious as to how you plan to make the alterations on the back and side seams. I plan on making this dress for a backyard summer wedding, but have no clue how to make the alterations.

I love that you are listed as a beginner and did something that looks so damn good. Inspiring for me. I was looking for a sundress that would be simple and nice like that for a fun, semi-retro, goofy print. This was really helpful. I bet you learned a lot about fitting from the back. I'd love to know what someone more experienced says about why that fit funny.
