I love swirly skirts, too. Your hem treatment probably works better than the suggested treatment. Great review

Very cute skirts. Awesome that you and your husband like big band music and go dancing.

Another case of the made up item looking way better than the pattern illustration. I love your version. Very pretty and flirty looking, looks like fun to wear.

I have this pattern but haven't tried it yet. This looks way better sewn up than it does on the pattern envelope. Your fabric choices were ideal.

I love the KS gored skirts too. Very easy to make but so feminine and pretty! You look very happy wearing it!

Your skirt looks even cuter than the pattern photo--and that one is pretty darn cute!

I never noticed that pattern before. It made up beautifully!

Beautiful stylish skirt Jane ! A lady who works in my local fabric shop has made this skirt four times and each one looks very different. One I particularly like is black, with black lace flounces. Thank you for sharing with us :))

I just love the skirt and the review also. Very detailed. One quick question. How did you figure the size to make the rectangle for your slip> Also how do you calculate for the length of the elastic for your skirts? Great Review Wanda (fatbaby)

Thanks everyone for your nice comments. I'm so grateful to everyone on PR who has taught me so much, not just about sewing but about just doing it!! Wanda, I had a half slip that fit me fine already so I just copied it by pinning it to my cutting table, stretching out the top elastic, tracing the full outline then added seam allowances. Tricot doesn't stretch much so I made 1" seam allowance to test it. I used lingerie elastic which is fairly loose, not very binding. I reduced the measurement a larger amount of inches from my waist measurement knowing that the stetch factor is fairly "soft." (Think of the elastic on the legs of underwear versus elastic on a skirt casing) Hope that helps.

Luscious little twirl going on there. So nicely put together.

I am making this skirt-the long version in a fine crepe polyester. I found your advice on using the three step hemming method for those flounces very helpful. I was having trouble using the rolled hem method and was on the verge of giving up. So thank you. I'm going to love this skirt.
