Cute top. per your comment on your blog: do you attach a really big safety pin & use that to feed the elastic through the casing? Also, basting down the seam allowances before doing the casing will help prevent the elastic from getting caught in them.

Maybe if you sew the casing a tiny bit wider, or use slightly smaller elastic? You shouldn't be having problems like this, and all I can think is that you buy elastic with such and such width and make the casing the exact same width, forgetting to allow for thickness... Cute top though, nobody would think you'd had problems :-).

Supercute! I love your color choice and the belt over a bow was a good decision. I have a pattern almost exactly like this I appropriated from my mom (vintage 70s). This makes me want to drag it out and do something with it!
