jnamcd - For the elastic, I used cotton-covered swimsuit elastic. With the elastic placed on the wrong side at the edge, first I basted the elastic in with long stitches. Then, I used a stretch overcast stitch to sew the edge of the elastic to the swimsuit. Then, I rolled the elastic/swimsuit fabric to the inside and top-stitched the elastic in place using a double needle and woolly nylon in the bobbin.

Wow---the suit looks great! I hope to make myself a Kwik sew swimsuit pattern this summer too--and now I better make one for my DD! Lovely job!! What was your technique for sewing on the elastic? Yours looks really nice!

Great job, it really looks fantastic! There's nothing worse than an ill-fitting swimsuit and it looks like the swimsuit fits your DD perfectly.
