I've had that pattern for years and never used it--now I think I will. My kids love hats. Your embroidery looks amazing--I know it's not all that simple to get such good results on fleece.

My friend Leah once told me that 95% of the trouble people have embroidering on anything with a pile (fleece, terrycloth, velvet, etc.) comes from not stabilizing on top and bottom. I stabilize on the bottom with tear-away on the top with wash-away. This forces the stitch length to be extended a little bit and the stitches sit on top of the fleece instead of sinking in. I am fairly new to machine embroidery, but making use of Leah's advice, I have had pretty good results on fleece so far.

Thanks for the advice on embroidery on fleece. I have this pattern but have not used it. Now I definately will! Thanks so much, this was a wonderful review.
