Thanks for the great review! I just bought this pattern-- I am realling diggin' the low back. I have used a lot of Vogue patterns-- I really like them.

Good for you, tackling a difficult project and making it work for your fabrics! Pretty dress.

Looks great! I love the colors! I bought an Anna Sui pattern and I'm hesitant to make it since it calls for like 5 yards of fabric!! But yours looks awesome!

It's a beautiful dress - very boutique!

I love your colors, and fabric combination. However if you had followed the directions to attach the waist to a gros-grain ribbon, you would have had a straight waist as shown on the pattern photo, instead of the weight of the skirt pulling it into a wave because of the lighter bodice fabric. It's not just sadism, sometimes there are reasons for those odd couture directions :-). But don't worry, wear this proudly, it's smashing.

Thanks, everyone, for your comments! And thanks, fuzzygalore, for the tip about the ribbon - I'll try it their way next time and see how it comes out. I should have guessed that there was a reason for that approach, but it never occured to me that it would help the dress hang better.

Wow! I picked up this pattern and then put it back...really your version is Better than those on the pattern envelope!! Great use of the brocade fabric. I'm not a fan of the low back so I'll need a "plan B"
