I admire your perserverence! I would've thrown in the towel way before you! Well, it paid off...your dress is lovely! And I don't mind the shorter length at all. All in all it looks fabulous on you!

I agree with everyone else - from what I can see in the photo it looks great. I think this length of hem might actually be preferable to the floor length with those sleeves.

Your dress looks much better than the ones pictured on the pattern envelope. I think the shorter length is nice because it keeps the dress modern without losing the 70s glamour.

Just simply gorgeous! The fabric and pattern were meant for each other. I think the length looks fine on you too...

It's very pretty. I love the brown band and drape with this material. It looks very elegant. Also, the white dress is pretty.

I think this looks fabulous on you - I can't see that it is baggy and the length is just perfect - any longer and I think the whole very sophisticated effect may have been spoilt. You are making some incredibly beautiful clothes!

Hi!! Beautiful, again!! If you REALLY don't like the length, could you consider making it "tea length"?

I am catching up on reviews, and this one is a cherry on the top! I think we are too hard on ourselves, whereas all others don't know what happened in your sewing expedition. I like the length, also..I normally wear tooo long, and DD says it makes me look older. Don't want that! This looks fresh and young, very RTW! Sort of Nordstromish wedding pages, except with "Style"...

Wow, this dress is gorgeous and complements you perfectly. I was surprised to read about all of the problems that you encountered. I hope that with a little time and distance you can look at this as an unqualified success. I'm so happy that Simplicity goes on sale at Joann's soon, this pattern is now on my list.

About to make this for my daughter for a wedding this summer, your fabric choice is stunning. I am new to this site so it is nice to see that I am not the only one that fumbles through sewing.
