Renren said... Very nice and thanks for the heads up on the underarm gaping problem. I have this pattern and would like to sew it soon. 2BSewing also mentions the gaping in her review. To quote her: "I had a problem with "flaring" under the arm and top was a bit loose. The pattern description did say this was a close-fitting top. So, I adjusted my pattern by trimming away 3/8" in the ease area (under the arm) and tapering back out to the pattern line above the waistline on the front pattern piece. I also trimmed away 3/8" under the arm and tapering above the waistline on the back pattern piece. I also trimmed away 3/8" on each end of my arm bindings. This resulted in a nicer fit."
Hmm . . . even though JuliaS had no problem with the underarm issue, obviously I'll be making a muslin . . . just in case. I imagine I'll use some combination of 2BSewing's method and your foldover elastic remedy. Nice job! 6/17/07 9:29 AM
