Deepika said... Wow, love your shirt. It's so cool that its made from shirts you were going to toss anyway. I have to start looking at my closet more carefully now. Question for you, from the photo it looks like the neckline is really high. Does that bother you? 6/27/07 3:31 PM
causticmuse said... Thanks for all the comments. I have been on a mission to re-style my t-shirts because I seem to have so many of them that are too large, too short, too small, freebies from running 5k races or volunteering, etc. I just have too MANY of them, and there's only so much room in my wardrobe for boxy old tees. I love the prints and/or slogans on most of them (otherwise I wouldn't have purchased them in the first place), so using them as raw materials for new, more stylish tops is a way to keep them around in a useful way. Now when I am thinking about getting a new t-shirt (alas, not an option until my DIY challenge is over in June 2008), I deliberately go for the largest size offered just so I have more fabric to work with!
Deepika - I haven't actually tried to work out in the shirt yet, but I am wearing it at the office today (very lax dress code in video game development), and I haven't noticed any discomfort, riding up in front, or choking while sitting or standing. Here's a cameraphone shot of the neckline taken at my desk, hah... 6/27/07 4:36 PM

I just cant see throwing things away with good fabric and notions right there for free! Especially when some of those fabrics can be really expensive! Good work and I look forward to seeing more of your projects in the future!!! 2/28/08 1:49 PM
