Making this pretty skirt in a wool blend was a good idea to give the drape a lot of body. The fact that you had to leave off 2 of your 8 of your skirt pattern pieces may mean that you originally chose a size that was too big for you, overall. It's not easy to serge elastic to wool *and* lining together, so your skills may be a bit higher than you think. This is a pretty one. -Lily

You're braver than I. I have yet to sew anything in wool and I am dying to learn how to serge elastic. I still do the basic roll over waist band and insert elastic after. I am also pleased when the pattern (like simplicity) has the finished size written on the pattern pieces for waist, hips. That way I can really check before I cut. This is something I am just learning how to do.

This is the pattern I used to make my winter white wool suit's skirt. (See Wool Contest). I chose to line mine as well. You did a great job. I agree with Lily that perhaps you're further along than you think!

Thanks ladies for your kind words but I won't feel myself to be advanced anything until I can construct a dress, pants, shirt for myself and then just maybe then I'll see what you all see. Thanks again.
