Mine is a very heavy linen, now a quite faded black, and that, too, hangs really well. I used my usual size, and it's rather long (I'm 5'6")--in this weight fabric, I'd never tuck it in, but rather wear it as a loose jacket. I agree that the directions are pretty good, for the most part, but I made this several years ago so I don't quite remember--I guess I never really liked how the collar came out, but that could have been operator error.
