bes said... Great shirt! I bought this pattern about a week ago and put it aside. Yours looks so nice, I think I'll get it our and get started. Kwik-Sew's shoulders seem to work so much better for me. Maybe this one will too. 5/9/03 10:40 PM

A suggestion on the tank: If there is enough fabric, just cut the front of the tank from the existing fabric and use a contrast for the back, or cut out a motif from the fabric and applique it onto a plain tank. I've seen a lot of designer stuff with the motif repeated like that. Great sewing and good review 5/12/03 12:20 PM
Mariko said... Thank you for your suggestion, Slyone. Until I read your comment, I did not think about the back could be any ways. I can take a front bodice from the fabric, so will look at it again to see if I can make a back bodice with a few pieces. My concern is if there is any problem to sew cotton/rayon blend and fabric of different content (like cotton 100%) to gether. I would appreciate if anybody can comment on this. 5/12/03 1:00 PM

If you are going to machine wash and dry the top, both fabrics should be pre-washed and dryed before you sew, so they won't shrink. Thanks for the review-I want to try this pattern. 5/12/03 5:24 PM

I just bought the Men's Kwik Sew shirt version and was looking it over today. I have a great tropical print I picked up at a great price. I was going to make it into a shirt for DH but now I'm thinking I should buy the women's pattern and make it for myself! 5/13/03 11:40 PM

Mariko said... Hello, Kathleen. Yes, this one has more room than KS3027, having fewer darts. KS3027 has additional darts on the front and back while this style has only bust darts from the side seam. 8/26/03 8:36 AM
Really nice looking Aloha shirt, Mariko.
