I am also making view C. I did do the horizontal folds and I put them in before the pleats because I did not think I could get them even after the skirt was already made. I did make my skirt less casual. It is liberty cotton with silk duponi ties and waistband. I think the banded skirt would also be cute. It is alot of work, you were right about that, but I like it.

Ladylike thank you for the review and parisf thank you for your comments - everything is helpful to me. I just pulled out this pattern to make the skirt for my DD in a batik cotton which has a lovely border on one selvage side. I'm hopeful that it will turn out great.
