I made one of these for my nephew a few years back -- but I had to copy it from the one I still own from when I was a child! It's the only ball we were able to toss in the house, and it also probably got me hooked on fabrics (looking at all the different swatches). Thanks for noting the sources, including ones printed around the time I was born (YIkes!) Like you, I'd recommend making this as a present for any young child... I've played and looked at mine for years. The joy the ball brings never stops (as you've observed with your relatives)!
