The dress looks great, horizontal pattern or not! The neckline is lovely on you. Feminine and not stuffy, but not too much skin either. I have this pattern and had the same tent concerns as you and also planned to make it longer. I want to make both the sleeved and sleeveless versions. and have already chosen fabrics for esch. I just wish I could sew as fast as I can plan sewing projects. A common problem, I am sure!
