I, too, found Elan bra patterns not to my liking. I recommend Kwik Sew's bra patterns, Beverly Johnson's "Pin-up Girls" bra (available at bramakers.com) and the bra pattern from Needle Nook fabrics. I have sewn many bras (trial & error), used Lee-Ann Burgess "Making Beautiful Bras" book & video and Beverly Johnson's "Bra-Makers Manual". They are both excellent books and I have had much success after discarding a few at the beginning. It is a learning process and I wish you well. Feel free to send me a message if you want more info.

Oh dear, much sympathy! I wish I had read this review earlier - I had a similar experience with the same pattern and kit. I wondered if it was just me. The cup size does seem to be smaller than my rtw bras and I was a little disappointed with the kit, I didn't like the supplied materials very much.

What size were you making? I was just thinking about buying the pattern for my first foray into bra-making. I imagine fit issues may be different for larger vs. smaller cup sizes...
