Firstly, on the back of the pattern it only gives hip measurements for A - B, which are the straight and slight A line skirts - and they all seem like reasonable amounts of ease for the straight skirt - for a 42 hip, the width for the hip is 45.5. Pattern says that A - D are worn one inch below the hip. I am making E - the semi circle skirt - NOT something that should be worn below the waist at all - and the waistband is 38" long! I hadn't bothered trying on the skirt yet and it is enormous! I shall have to take in the side seam and create a seam on the other side to balance the circular waist and hem. not so easy to to well - I'm relly not happy about it. 9/10/12 10:41 AM
